The purpose of the Blodomloppet is to highlight the vital importance of blood donation. It is held annually in several cities, including Stockholm and Gothenburg, and offers participants the opportunity to walk, jog, or run either 5 km or 10 km. The Lilla Blodomloppet gives children the chance to participate and discover the joy of movement. A T-shirt and medal are included for all registered participants, and prizes are awarded to the top three women and men in the 10 km and 5 km categories.

- Blodomloppet has grown to become Sweden's largest fun run, with over 110,000 participants, and more than 5,000 new blood donors register each year in connection with the races.
